Nevada bettors broke the Super Bowl betting record by placing a staggering $185.6 million in wagers on the NFL’s biggest game, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
The record-breaking amount surpassed the previous high of $179.8 million, which was set in 2022 when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Super Bowl also drew a record number of viewers, as CBS Sports reported that 123.4 million people watched the game on their network and streaming services.
This made it the most-watched program in history, beating the previous record of 115.1 million, which was set last year.
The game was a nail-biter, as the Kansas City Chiefs clinched the victory with a score of 25:22.
