Brazil Finalizes List of Approved Sports for Fixed-Odds Betting

Brazil has officially outlined its list of approved sports for fixed-odds betting just hours before the launch of the nation’s regulated sports betting market, as reported by Gambling Insider.
The list, detailed by the Ministry of Sports, includes a wide range of disciplines recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
Among the key sports approved for betting are:
- Football
- Basketball
- Boxing
- Baseball
- Hockey
- Cricket
- Tennis
- Surfing
Moreover, the list encompasses a range of niche sports such as various martial arts, skateboarding, diving, sailing, skiing, and equestrianism, covering all sports and modalities recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
On the licensing front, reports suggest 68 online gaming licenses have been granted to both local and offshore operators. As for sports betting licenses, 14 definitive licenses have been issued, while 52 remain provisional.
