Dutch poker player and streamer Martin Hummel has completed a 76-hour online poker marathon, exceeding the current world record by 27 hours, CasinoNieuws reported. His result has yet to be officially verified by Guinness World Records.
Hummel began his record attempt on August 14.
He initially planned to play for 72 hours but continued for another four hours after reaching that mark.
The marathon was streamed live on Hummel’s Twitch channel and the ONK Poker YouTube channel.
Spanish player Sergio Garcia remains the official record holder for now. In 2023, he played online poker for 49 hours. Hummel’s 76-hour attempt must still undergo official verification by Guinness World Records, meaning Garcia’s achievement remains the listed record.
This was not Hummel’s first attempt at the record. In 2021, he played online poker for 48 hours, a feat that was later officially recognised by Guinness World Records. Two years later, Garcia surpassed him by just one hour.
During his latest 76-hour marathon, Hummel also raised money for Stichting DierenLot, a Dutch animal welfare charity.
