Conor McGregor, never one to shy away from a high-stakes wager, has once again proven his betting prowess, this time cashing in on a boxing match between his long-time UFC rival Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.
The Irishman placed a $500,000 bet on Diaz, predicting a victory for his former opponent. His prediction proved spot on, with Diaz emerging victorious by decision, netting McGregor a total win of $1,625,000 and $1,125,000 in profit.
Diaz’s victory came by decision, with the judges scoring the bout 98-92, 97-93, and 95-95 in favor of Diaz. McGregor’s prediction proved to be spot on.
Nate Diaz himself had an interesting reaction to McGregor’s bet:
It is worth mentioning that McGregor has been sharing his recent betting successes, coinciding with his role as an ambassador for the cryptocurrency sportsbook and online casino, Duelbits.
McGregor’s recent betting history includes a wager of just over $80,000 on Spain to win Euro 2024 at odds of 12. Given Spain’s current performance, this bet looks promising. He also placed a bet on Cristiano Ronaldo to be the top scorer of Euro 2024, but that wager didn’t pan out.
