Last night, a boxing event took place in Saudi Arabia, featuring a main event between American blogger Jake Paul and British professional boxer Tommy Fury.
One of the event’s most enthusiastic viewers was rapper Drake, who didn’t hesitate to place a $400,000 bet on Jake Paul winning by knockout. According to a photo he posted on social media, the musician made the bet at the betting company Stake.com.
It’s worth noting that Drake’s choice of bookmaker is predictable, given that he is an ambassador for Stake.com.
Unfortunately for Drake, his bet failed miserably, as Jake Paul was unable to deliver a knockout.
Furthermore, the British blogger lost by a split decision, despite being a slight favorite in the bookmakers’ line-up before the match.
It's safe to say that Drake won't be too upset about his lost bet. The American singer frequently shares his sports betting picks on social media, with some wins and some losses. For instance, he lost $1 million betting on Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup final, but he made up for it by winning over $500,000 with a successful prediction in the Super Bowl 2023.
Returning to Jake Paul’s defeat, it was his first loss in his brief boxing career. Maybe it’s time for him to explore other avenues for making money instead of sticking with professional sports. It’s worth noting that Paul is not just a boxer, but also one of the co-founders of the American bookmaker Betr.
