Neymar and Blaze

PSG’s Brazilian forward, Neymar, is under scrutiny by France’s National Gambling Authority (ANJ), as reported by Games Magazine Brasil.

The controversy stems from Neymar’s recent livestream of himself playing at the online casino Blaze.

As part of his ambassadorial contract with the gambling operator, Neymar’s livestream ended with him losing €1 million. The stream was part of his commercial partnership, suggesting that the deposit was provided by the online casino itself.

However, the ANJ has taken notice of this promotion of an offshore gambling operator, Blaze, by the Parisian forward.

The regulators are particularly concerned about Blaze’s lack of a national license, as well as Neymar’s risky behavior during his gambling activity, which could set a negative example for his fans.

Currently, it is unclear whether any sanctions will be imposed on the PSG star. According to available information, the ANJ is investigating Neymar’s location during the stream, and if he was in France at the time, the regulator may have stronger grounds for penalizing the footballer.

This incident comes on the heels of The Safe Internet League publishing another list of streamers involved in illegal gambling advertising.
