The Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) has put an end to 49 gambling websites that were operating without a license and targeting Danish citizens.

Casino Nieuws reports that the blocked sites offered a variety of gambling games, such as casinos, online slots, poker, and sports betting.

One of the sites on the blacklist is Stake.com, a popular cryptocurrency casino site that holds an offshore license from Curacao.

This is the 9th time that the DGA has taken legal action to block illegal gambling resources. Since 2012, the regulator has shut down 276 unlicensed gambling websites in Denmark.

The DGA has also stepped up its efforts to protect Danish gamblers from illegal operators. Instead of addressing the issue once a year, the regulator now plans to bring such cases to court twice a year.

For reference: the DGA follows a simple procedure to deal with illegal gambling sites. First, it contacts the gambling firms and asks them to stop their activities in Denmark. If they don’t comply, the regulator seeks a court order to block the sites through local internet providers.
