Sub On Play On bet365

Bet365’s new player substitution betting option has paid out over £18 million (about $23.96M) to bettors in its first month, according to SBC News.

Launched last month, the “Sub On, Sub Off” option automatically transfers a bet on one player to their replacement if they’re subbed off during the match. For example, if a bettor placed a wager on Player A to score, and Player A was replaced by Player B midgame, the bet would transfer to Player B.

The idea isn’t entirely new: Paddy Power first introduced it under the “Super Sub” name, later followed by William Hill’s “Impact Sub”. Still, Bet365’s version has quickly gained traction, especially during a stretch of highly competitive fixtures in the Premier League, featuring Arsenal, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United.

In just one month, more than 250,000 Bet365 users worldwide have already taken advantage of the Sub On, Sub Off function.

“In total, 3.2 million slips have benefitted from the promotion, with Aston Villa proving the costliest team in the Premier League,” said Steve Freeth, Bet365’s Sports and Trading Expert.

The feature is available across Bet365’s full lineup of player betting markets (aka player props). It’s not just for anytime goalscorers either. Gamblers can use it in markets like:

  • Player to score with a header
  • Player to score from outside the box
  • Bookings (yellow or red cards)
  • Assists
  • Shots on target
  • Tackles
  • Fouls

Interestingly, Bet365 also pointed to its biggest payout so far: £1.4 million (~$1.86M). It came during the Nottingham Forest game.
