Former Barcelona and Argentina striker Sergio Agüero placed a $10,000 bet on the Champions League clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid—but it didn’t go his way.
Agüero, a brand ambassador for Stake.com, backed a 3.65 odds bet that the first half would see at least two goals.
However, the opening 45 minutes saw just one goal, resulting in a losing ticket for the ex-striker. Ironically, the second half turned into a goal fest, with four more scored as Real Madrid claimed a dramatic 2-3 away victory.

Before the match, Agüero made headlines with a bold — if clearly joking — promise during a live stream, claiming he’d “cut off his testicles” if City lost. That statement quickly became internet fodder, with social media flooded with memes and jokes at his expense.
Beyond sports betting, Agüero is also a poker enthusiast. Two years ago, he even took part in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
