Record-Breaking Month: New Yorkers Wager Nearly $2.5 Billion in January

New York’s regulated online sports betting market set a new all-time high in January, with total wagers reaching $2.48 billion. According to iGaming Business, this figure surpassed the previous state record, set in October 2024, by nearly 7%.
Compared to January 2024, the state’s total betting handle grew by 25.9% last month.
This surge also led to a record-breaking gross gaming revenue (GGR*) for operators in the state, hitting $247 million. The previous high of $231.6 million, recorded in November 2024, was 6.7% lower. Year-over-year, New York bookmakers saw a 16.7% increase in GGR compared to January 2024.
