Retired Argentine football player Sergio Aguero recently made an appearance at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the prestigious poker tournament. In an attempt to maintain a low profile, Aguero was seen donning a hood pulled tightly over his head and sporting sunglasses, seemingly trying to avoid unnecessary attention. However, despite his efforts, his presence did not go unnoticed by fans and the media, and numerous pictures surfaced on various social media platforms and news outlets.
Regarding his performance at the poker table, Aguero managed to accumulate a solid stack of 87,000 chips during the first day of the tournament.
It’s worth mentioning that the entry fee for this event amounted to $10,000, and the tournament winner will be determined on June 15th.
Furthermore, in addition to poker, the former footballer has shown a keen interest in other forms of gambling. For instance, he occasionally shares his betting and online casino successes. However, unlike poker, these activities are more like work for him. The explanation behind this is that Aguero serves as an ambassador for the cryptocurrency gambling company Stake.com, and therefore, all of his bets are placed on this platform.
Looking back at the poker industry, it is not uncommon to come across reports about famous football players testing their skills at the poker table. One recent example includes the poker ventures of Brazilian player Neymar and German player Max Kruse.
