Magic Mushrooms to Cure Gambling Addiction? UK Scientists Say Yes

UK scientists are gearing up for a groundbreaking experiment that will use magic mushrooms to treat gambling addiction. The trial, which will start in October (according to The Mirror), will involve giving psilocybin — the psychedelic compound found in over 200 mushrooms — to 5 people who struggle with gambling.
The scientists believe that psilocybin can help people overcome their addiction by altering their consciousness and changing their brain patterns.
They say that psilocybin has already shown promise in treating other addictions, such as alcohol and drugs.
The trial is funded by the government and will take place at Imperial College London. If it works, this new treatment could be offered by The National Health Service (NHS).
