Comscore Ranks Top 5 Countries with Most Online Bettors, US Leads the Way

Comscore, a US-based marketing data and analytics company, has released a study on the number of online bettors in different countries around the world.
The United States leads the pack with the most unique users registered on betting sites. England comes in second, followed by Brazil with 42.5 million betting fans. India and Italy rank fourth and fifth, respectively.
Brazil is showing a remarkable growth, as the number of users of betting sites has soared by 281% since 2019.
What’s more, the current 42.5 million Brazilian bettors make up almost a third (32%) of the total population with internet access in the country.
Most bets (80%) are made via mobile devices. The study also reveals that the most avid gamblers are men over 45 years old, who account for 61% of all users of betting sites in Brazil.
Ingrid Veronesi, the Senior Director of Comscore for Brazil, said that “the growth in access to gambling among Brazilian consumers can be attributed to several factors, such as the popularization of online betting, the reach of the internet and the advancement of technology, in addition to the wide coverage of sporting events.”
