Health insurance consultancy Engage Health Group has released the results of a survey involving employees in the UK’s gambling industry. According to Gambling Insider, 250 people participated in this sociological study.
Of those surveyed, 25% expressed happiness with their job, 48% were satisfied with their involvement in the gambling sector, and 13% lacked confidence in their work.
72% of respondents are willing to recommend their employers to friends and family members. On the other hand, 41% of those surveyed take pride in their affiliation with the gambling sector. But here’s where it gets interesting: 20% feel ashamed of their involvement in the gambling industry.
Let’s talk numbers. When it comes to salaries, 40% of respondents believe they earn more than their counterparts in other industries. A third (33%) consider their income on par with other economic sectors. However, 15% feel they’re earning less than workers in unrelated fields.
Beyond paychecks, employee benefits play a crucial role. For 50% of respondents, health insurance takes center stage. Life insurance follows closely.
Among the top life priorities for workers in the UK gambling industry:
- Personal health — 42%
- Family health — 14%
- Financial security — 7%
- Pets — 6%
