American television personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner has appeared in a video for Vanity Fair magazine in which she explains the basic rules of the most popular form of poker — Texas Hold’em.
Jenner, who rose to prominence through the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, said she first became interested in poker about two years ago during a trip with friends. According to Jenner, several men in the group were playing poker while she did not know the rules.
“They just taught me,” the television star said. She added that after that experience she began watching poker tournaments and gradually developed an interest in the game.
In the video, Jenner explains that the objective in Texas Hold’em is to make the best possible five-card hand using two private cards and five community cards, or to convince opponents that a player holds the strongest combination.
She also outlines the main hand rankings, ranging from a high card and a pair to a flush, full house and royal flush. Jenner notes that the royal flush is considered the rarest and strongest hand in the game.
The video also features a demonstration of a sample hand. Jenner explains the sequence of play: players first receive two private cards, followed by three community cards placed on the table (the flop), then a fourth card (the turn) and a final card (the river). A round of betting takes place after each stage.
Jenner advises beginners not to hesitate to use hand-ranking charts and to practice regularly. According to her, the more a person plays, the better they understand the mechanics of poker.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported that Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner’s sister, had taken part in an advertising campaign for Fanatics Sportsbook.
