Bookie - series

Max, the streaming service, has released the trailer for its new comedy series ‘Bookie,’ which will debut on November 30.

The show is created by Chuck Lorre, the mastermind behind hit sitcoms like ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Two and a Half Men.’

The stars of the show are Sebastian Maniscalco (who also starred in the 2023 comedy ‘About My Father’) and Omar Dorsey.

The story is set in Los Angeles, where Danny runs a shady bookmaking business, with his buddy Ray as his muscle. They have a tough job of collecting debts from reluctant clients. But their job gets harder when the government plans to legalize sports betting, and they have to deal with fearless debtors, unruly coworkers, and a messy family life. The trailer gives us a taste of the humor, starting with Danny’s line: “Nothing pisses me off more than people.”

The first season will have 8 episodes, which will be released weekly until December 21. The first two episodes will drop on the same day as the premiere.
