Stake has obtained a five-year licence to operate in Denmark, becoming the 59th company authorised by the Danish regulator, according to SBC News. The operator is preparing for a full launch of its online casino and sports betting services in the Danish market.
The licence was issued by Denmark’s gambling authority, Spillemyndigheden, and covers online casino and sports wagering activities.
The launch marks Stake’s formal entry into one of Europe’s most tightly regulated and competitive jurisdictions.
From March 1, 2026, Stake will open its Danish headquarters at Parken Stadium, Denmark’s national stadium and the home ground of FC Copenhagen. The company said the decision to establish an office at the country’s largest sports venue forms part of its strategy to strengthen its local presence.
Preparations for entering the Danish market began in January 2025, when Stake acquired MocinoPlay, the operator behind the VinderCasino brand. The deal laid the groundwork for the company’s subsequent launch in Denmark following regulatory approval.
Gambling Park previously reported that former Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas has become a brand ambassador for Stake.
