Swiss technology company Sportradar has been granted a license to operate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to an announcement published on the official website of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).
The company has been added to the list of approved service providers authorized to operate within the UAE’s emerging regulated gambling market.
The new status allows Sportradar to offer its technological solutions, data analytics, and integrity services aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency across the gaming industry.
Founded in 2001, Sportradar is one of the world’s leading suppliers of sports data and digital solutions for sports organizations and betting operators. The company works with over 900 sports federations and leagues, including UEFA, the NBA, the NHL, and FIFA. Sportradar specializes in real-time data collection and processing, analytics, and bet-monitoring systems designed to detect match-fixing and betting irregularities.
The issuance of the license marks another significant step in the development of the UAE’s gaming infrastructure. Other major international suppliers, such as Novomatic and Fennica Gaming, have already received similar approvals — underscoring the country’s ambition to attract leading technology partners and build a modern, responsible gaming ecosystem.
The GCGRA, established in 2023, is tasked with licensing, oversight, and the creation of a regulatory framework to support the sustainable growth of the UAE’s gaming industry.
