A Tel Aviv court has placed an Israeli Air Force reserve officer under house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet over allegations that he passed classified information used for betting on Polymarket, Makor Rishon reported.
According to the indictment, the officer gave an acquaintance information about the timing of Israeli military operations against Iran and Yemen. The information was allegedly used to place bets on events linked to possible Israeli strikes. Investigators claim those involved made more than $160,000 from the scheme.
Gambling Park previously reported on the case in March, when the indictment was published. At the time, it was reported that one of the episodes dated back to June 2025. After a classified briefing, the officer allegedly warned his acquaintance about an upcoming attack and advised him to increase his bet. Once the operation began, he reportedly confirmed the information again.
At the latest hearing, the officer said he had not fully understood the gravity of his actions. He also claimed that “everyone in the Air Force bets.”
The judge did not rule on the substance of that claim at this stage of the case. However, he said that if the officer’s words were even partly true, the matter would require an inquiry at the highest level and a serious internal review within the Israeli Air Force.
At the same time, the court gave a harsh assessment of the case itself. The ruling said the matter was not simply about betting, but about serious “moral and ethical degradation” and actions driven by gambling and financial gain.
