Israeli Air Force Officer Leaked Data on Strikes in Iran and Yemen to Place Bets on Polymarket

An indictment has been published in a case involving an Israeli Air Force reserve officer and an associate, who are accused of using confidential information to profit from betting, Kanal 7 reported. Prosecutors say the defendants used data on planned Israeli military operations to place bets on the prediction market platform Polymarket.

The officer allegedly had access to details of planned strikes on Iran and Yemen and passed them to a former colleague, who placed bets on the timing of potential operations.

One of the incidents dates to June 2025. After a classified briefing, the officer informed his partner of an upcoming strike and advised increasing the stake. When the operation began, he confirmed it in a follow-up message.

The scheme generated about $128,000 in profits, which were divided between the two, part of which was converted into cash.

Investigators believe a similar approach was used in September 2025 during an operation in Yemen. The suspects later attempted to conceal their actions by deleting messages and other data after account activity drew suspicion.

Both have been charged with offences including unlawful use of confidential information, corruption-related violations, and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors are also seeking the confiscation of equipment, cash, and crypto assets seized in the case.
