Genius Sports and IBIA Team Up to Fight Match-Fixing

Genius Sports, a leading provider of sports data and technology, has joined forces with the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) as an Associate Member.

The global partnership aims to enhance sports betting integrity through information sharing and a comprehensive anti-match-fixing initiative. Genius Sports and IBIA will collaborate to identify and address suspicious betting activity.

Both parties will have mutual access to a range of technological resources and sports integrity reports, bolstering their efforts to combat manipulation of competition outcomes worldwide.

This collaboration is expected to create a “powerful alliance”, combining the expertise of Genius Sports, one of the world’s leading sports technology companies, with IBIA, the largest international body dedicated to monitoring betting integrity in sports.

Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, highlighted that the partnership “brings together two leading global players in the sports technology and betting integrity environments.” Simon Martyn, Director of Integrity at Genius Sports, described the collaboration with IBIA as “vital pillars to safeguarding the global sports industry from the threats of match-fixing and betting-related corruption.”

This alliance follows the recent collaboration between the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to combat misconduct in esports.
