The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has announced that Slovenian player Nastja Kolar and American player Alexandra Riley have been temporarily suspended for violating a number of ITIA’s anti-corruption rules.
According to the published information, the players are accused of manipulating certain aspects of matches, betting, facilitating bets at a bookmaker, courtsiding, and failing to report violations.
It’s reported that as of March 14, 2023, the players are temporarily banned from participating in or attending any sanctioned tennis events organized by recognized governing bodies.
The temporary suspension will last for the entire period of the investigation into the tennis players, until a decision on sanctions is made, assuming that their guilt is proven.
It’s worth noting that five Russian tennis players are currently under suspension for match-fixing, with four of them banned for life.
