Starting January 31, 2023, PokerStars will implement new rules. One of the innovations will be the introduction of a fee for inactive accounts.

If there have been no logins to the account or transactions made for 13 months, the account will be classified as «inactive». However, there must be funds on the balance for this to happen.

After the account is flagged as inactive, a monthly fee of €5 will be charged, and the operator will notify the user 30 days before the status changes. If there are no funds on the balance, the account will be closed.

Under the new rules, PokerStars can also close the account and confiscate the balance after it has been designated as inactive.

PokerStars must inform the player via email about this. If the user does not respond to the email within 5 years, the funds will be subject to confiscation.

Since 2020, the PokerStars brand has been owned by the Irish gambling corporation Flutter and is one of the world’s largest resources for online poker. After leaving Russia, the poker room’s player pool has noticeably decreased.
