888Poker, owned by 888 Holdings Group, refunded over $287,000 to players in 2022 as part of its commitment to fair play policies. According to iGaming Business, this is a record-high amount.

A total of $287,292 was refunded from bot accounts that use special programs to outplay real poker players.

Approximately 6,800 players were refunded an average of $42 each, marking a 32% increase from 2021.

However, 888Poker still considers bots a common problem in online poker and has decided to invest more in fraud detection mechanisms. Besides bots, users who conspired to gain an unfair advantage were also detected among 888Poker players.

Matan Kraków, a representative of 888Poker, noted that the return of nearly $290,000 was the result of continuous investment in technology and cooperation with players. “In the coming year, we will continue to focus on this area to ensure customers have a fair, safe and fun experience when playing with 888poker,” added Kraków.

In 2021, 888poker returned over $80,000 to 1,390 players. The platform predicted $300,000 in refunds for 2022.
