A Brazilian man has filed a lawsuit against football star Neymar and other celebs, alleging they influenced him to place bets at the bookmaker Blaze, leading to a loss of $12,000 in bets.

iGaming Brazil reports that the man is seeking reimbursement for his casino losses and compensation for moral damages, totaling nearly $200,000.

The lawsuit also names other celebrities who promoted Blaze, including popular Brazilian YouTuber Felipe Neto.

The plaintiff alleges that his betting habit was influenced by videos of Neymar, Neto, and others endorsing Blaze and winning bets on their live streams.

The lawsuit was triggered when the plaintiff discovered “training/fake/demo accounts” in online casinos. He believes that celebrities promoting the casino were using these accounts with virtual money, where winnings are more frequent than with “real” money. This realization prompted the lawsuit against Neymar and the others.

Neymar, Felipe Neto, and the other defendants have yet to comment on the lawsuit. It’s likely that any comments will be withheld until the trial commences.
