Las Vegas Casino Bans Blogger With 1.6M Subscribers After $400,000 Win

Popular gambling blogger Vegas Matt (Stephen Matt Morrow), whose YouTube channel has more than 1.6 million subscribers, was banned from the Venetian casino in Las Vegas after a major win. The story was first reported by Vital Vegas, a blog covering the city, and Morrow later confirmed it.

The win came in November 2025, when Morrow and his friends were playing the Phoenix Link slot machine. Their bets reached as much as $2,500 per spin, while their total winnings were around $400,000.

According to Morrow, Venetian security escorted him from the property several days later and told him not to return, without explaining why.

Vegas Matt posted a video of the win at the time but did not mention the ban. That part of the story only became public nine months later.

The influencer suggested that the casino may have suspected him of advantage play. In this type of strategy, players look for machines where bonus features have already built up.

On Phoenix Link, for example, a meter increases as the game is played and moves closer to triggering a bonus. It does not reset when a player leaves, so some players specifically look for machines where previous customers have already brought the bonus close to activation.

Morrow, however, says he was not using that strategy. According to him, when he and his friends finished playing, the Phoenix Link meter was higher than it had been at the start of their session. In other words, they had moved the machine closer to its next bonus themselves rather than taking advantage of progress built up by previous players.

There is no confirmation that the Venetian ban was related to suspicions of advantage play.

Morrow’s followers have criticized the Venetian, while one user even said they had canceled a planned stay at the hotel.

On August 25, Vegas Matt posted a new video from the Fontainebleau casino resort in Las Vegas.

There, he again played Phoenix Link and won $250,000. Morrow said he preferred to play at a property where they were “happy when he wins.”
