A Las Vegas woman is taking the Gold Coast Casino to court, claiming that a metal roulette ball hit her eye and caused her permanent damage, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The woman, Dalease Brown, is seeking $15,000 in damages for emotional distress and physical harm. She says that the incident happened in October 2021, when she was playing roulette at the casino.
According to Brown, the dealer is responsible for what happened. She alleges that the dealer spun the ball at an unsafe speed and angle.
The lawsuit states that Brown felt intense pain in her eye and partially lost her vision. She had to go to the hospital for medical treatment. Her injuries are described as “severe, painful, and permanent”.
Neither Brown’s lawyer nor the casino have commented on the case. They have ignored all media inquiries.
This is not the first time a casino has been sued after a roulette ball hit a customer’s eye. In 2015, a similar case happened at Maryland Live, where a man asked for $300,000 in compensation. However, the court dismissed his case. Will Brown have better luck this time?
