Santos forward Neymar made it to the final table of the prestigious online tournament WCOOP Super Tuesday High Roller but fell short of the title. The final was held on September 10 and was won by Canadian Guillaume “Nolet20” Nolet, who collected $186,434 in prize money. Neymar finished 7th, earning $26,111.
He entered the final with a short stack of just 23 big blinds, which limited his options and forced him to take more risks.
Even so, his participation drew extra attention to the event: poker fans and football supporters from around the world followed the final table closely.
This was Neymar’s first WCOOP final table, but not his first deep run in a major event. He previously reached the finals of the PokerStars Winter Series (2022, 3rd place for $125,678), BSOP São Paulo (2018, 6th place for about $21,000), and the Titans Event on PokerStars (2023, 2nd place for $66,056). These results show that poker is a serious pursuit for Neymar, not just a casual hobby.
Neymar has been a PokerStars ambassador since 2015. In 2023, he also became a partner of Blaze, a popular bookmaker in Brazil.
