An exhibition boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis has unexpectedly gained a new layer of intrigue. At a press conference in New York, what began as talk about the fight quickly escalated into a heated wager, with popular streamer Adin Ross serving as the catalyst, MMA Fighting reports.

It was Ross who first proposed a $250,000 bet on Paul. Davis immediately doubled it to $500,000. Paul then raised the stakes to $1 million, and ultimately the fighters agreed to a $2 million side bet.

Video of the exchange, which unfolded in front of the press and fans, quickly went viral on social media.

The fight is scheduled for November 14. Although officially billed as an exhibition and not counted toward the professional records of either boxer, organizers have decided to appoint three judges and conduct full scoring.

The fighters’ own remarks have further fueled interest. Davis said he would donate part of any potential winnings to charity — “but only part, because I’m not that rich.” Paul, meanwhile, turned to Ross and asked what they would spend the winnings on together.

What was intended as a showpiece event has now turned into a contest with real stakes. On the line is not only the reputation of two high-profile names from the worlds of boxing and media, but also a multimillion-dollar bet that is drawing almost as much attention as the fight itself.
