Andrea Pirlo Becomes Brand Ambassador for Russian Bookmaker

Italian football legend Andrea Pirlo has signed on as a brand ambassador for Russian betting company FONBET, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on social media.

“Here we go! Andrea Pirlo joins FONBET — contract signed!” Romano wrote.

Pirlo, a former midfielder and current coach, is regarded as one of the best playmakers of his generation. During his club career he played for Brescia, Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus, winning the Champions League, Serie A, and numerous domestic titles. With the Italian national team, he became a World Cup winner in 2006 and a Euro 2012 silver medalist.

FONBET’s signing of such a high-profile ambassador is seen as a response to rival bookmaker Winline, which recently announced a partnership with Ronaldinho.
