Turkey has shut down the streaming platform Kick in its country, as reported by the online news site Duvar English.
The reason for the ban is Kick’s link to the gambling business. Turkish officials say that the platform came to the Turkish market to lure the young people to casino gaming.
Kick, which was launched in 2022, is owned by the famous cryptocurrency gambling company Stake.com. Many bloggers use Kick to stream different online gambling games, while promoting Stake.com and other gambling sites.
On top of that, the Kick platform faced a similar shutdown in Greece not long ago for offering illegal gambling services.
But the bans in Turkey and Greece may not stop Kick’s owners from pursuing their goals. Last summer, there were reports that Stake.com would spend around $200 million to attract more streamers to Kick.
