An Irish player has won a record-setting €250 million EuroMillions jackpot, according to the Independent. The winning draw took place yesterday.
The winning ticket matched all five main numbers — 13, 22, 23, 44, and 49 — along with both lucky stars, 3 and 5. The ticket holder from Ireland hit the exact combination.
While this isn’t the first time a €250 million jackpot has been awarded in EuroMillions history — a player in Austria matched the same amount on March 28, 2025 — it is the largest ever win for an Irish player. Prior to this, the record prize from EuroMillions for an Irish participant had never reached such a high.
EuroMillions is a transnational lottery launched on February 7, 2004, by national lottery operators in France, Spain, and the UK. It later expanded to include players in Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Switzerland.
A EuroMillions ticket costs €2.50, and the odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 139,838,160.
Typically, each draw sees between 20 and 30 million tickets sold. During special Superdraws, that number can rise to 50-60 million.
