One Lucky Bettor Forces DC Lottery to Change Its Rules

Washington DC Lottery, the American gambling corporation, has hastily changed its gaming rules because of one customer who won $100,000 legally.

The customer’s winnings came from sports betting. Washington DC Lottery runs the betting platform Gambet DC, which has terminals all over the state of Washington.

It turns out that the customer found a loophole in the platform’s odds setting for matches and placed several high-stakes bets, resulting in a $100,000 jackpot.

He didn’t do anything wrong; the odds were just much better than those of other competitors.

But the company’s first reaction was to quickly add a clause to their gaming rules that allows them to limit bets for very successful bettors. And guess who was one of the first ones to feel the pinch? The $100,000 winner.

It’s not uncommon for bookmakers to limit winning bettors. But what’s surprising is that Washington DC Lottery didn’t have such a clause in their gaming rules before, and it took one customer to make them change it.
