Europe’s Largest Integrated Casino Resort Opens in Limassol

This week marked the official opening of the City of Dreams Mediterranean, the largest integrated casino resort in Europe, located in Limassol, Cyprus. Despite facing delays caused by the pandemic, the Hong Kong-based holding company Melco Resorts & Entertainment successfully completed the project after a span of over four years.
Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, expressed his optimism about this venture, emphasizing that it would enable the gaming group to tap into new and promising markets.
Yau Lung also commended the collaboration with the right partners in Cyprus, stating that their correct strategies to attract tourists and investors had instilled confidence in Melco Resorts.

The esteemed complex boasts an expansive 7,500 square-meter casino, offering diverse table games, a dedicated poker area, state-of-the-art slot machines, and live entertainment. Furthermore, the hotel segment of the resort features 500 well-appointed guest rooms and suites, including the most extensive presidential suite available on the island.
In addition to the casino and hotel, the complex includes impressive facilities such as a spacious ballroom capable of accommodating over 1,000 guests, a versatile forum, state-of-the-art conference rooms, and a Roman-style arena. Market experts estimate that Melco Resorts has invested over €600 million into this project, highlighting the significant commitment made by the company.
Overall, the opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean represents a major milestone for Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Cyprus as a tourist destination. The grand scale and diverse offerings of the resort position it as a premier entertainment and hospitality destination in Europe, catering to both local and international visitors.
