Betting exchange Betfair, part of Flutter Entertainment, has begun testing a new product, Betfair Predicts, built on prediction market mechanics, Casino.org reports.
The service is integrated as an additional interface within the existing Betfair platform and is currently in beta testing among a limited number of invite-only users. The product allows users to make predictions on real-world events across sports, politics and entertainment.
A Betfair spokesperson said the product remains at an early stage of development and is being considered as a step toward a potential launch in the UK market.
“We are constantly testing new solutions, and Betfair Predicts is one such project,” the spokesperson said.
According to sources within Flutter Entertainment, early user feedback has been positive and suggests there is demand for this format.
At the same time, Betfair’s core product — its betting exchange — continues to show stable performance, with growth of around 10% in 2025.
If launched in the UK, the new service would fall under existing gambling regulations. The UK Gambling Commission has previously stated that prediction markets are classified as gambling, meaning Betfair Predicts could operate under the operator’s current licence.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported that DraftKings had launched its own prediction platform.
