Paddy Power, a part of the international gambling giant Flutter, had ambitious plans to feature former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a marketing campaign. However, as reported by 5Star, this collaboration between the politician and the bookmaker did not materialize.
Paddy Power had envisioned Johnson making a cameo in a commercial tied to the launch of the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany (Euro 2024).
Paddy Power’s management was excited about the prospect of featuring the well-known politician in their promotion. However, the ad featuring Johnson will not air as the gambling company decided to scrap the plan.
Several sources familiar with the situation have reported the collapse of this collaboration with the former prime minister. Paddy Power has also confirmed the cancellation of the ad campaign featuring Johnson. The reasons behind this decision remain unclear, and Johnson’s representative has declined to comment.
Despite this setback, Paddy Power remains optimistic about a potential future collaboration with the politician.
The company, known for its high-profile publicity stunts, stated, “We remain hopeful of working together in the near future.”
