Ahead of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort (August 29–31), one of the teams has been forced to adjust its official name due to local regulatory restrictions, Casino Nieuws reports.
The issue involves the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, which carries the branding of Stake — a well-known sportsbook and online casino, and an official partner of the team.
The Dutch gambling regulator contacted Formula 1 organizers to clarify that gambling-related advertising is prohibited during the event. The restriction, which bans bookmaker and casino branding at sports events, has been in effect since July 1, 2025.
As a result, Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber must temporarily drop all references to its betting sponsor at the upcoming race. This applies not only to the team’s official name but also to car liveries and driver gear.
A quick solution was found: the team’s cars and uniforms will instead carry the branding of Kick, a streaming platform owned by Stake. According to Gambling Park, the team is expected to compete in the Netherlands under the name Kick Sauber.
