Georgia’s Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from gaming company Spribe in a trademark dispute over the name Aviator, upholding rulings from lower courts, according to a report from Gambling Insider.

The case was originally brought by Georgia-based Aviator LLC, which accused Spribe of unlawfully using the Aviator name and branding — including airplane imagery — for its popular crash-style betting game.

In its recent ruling, the Supreme Court upheld the decisions of lower courts, marking a definitive legal loss for Spribe in Georgia.

The ruling means Spribe is now formally banned from using the Aviator name or any plane-related imagery associated with its game within the country.

However, the fallout may not end at Georgia’s borders. Aviator LLC has stated the court’s decision could have broader implications, pointing to an ongoing complaint it filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office aimed at protecting its trademark rights across the EU market.
