The final game of the National Football League, better known as the Super Bowl, traditionally becomes one of the most important sports events in the USA. The scale of the game directly affects bookmakers, who repeatedly record betting activity during the game.
According to CNBC, Super Bowl LVII, which took place on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona, was no exception.
According to GeoComply, American betting operators processed 100 million transactions over the weekend, while last year’s Super Bowl weekend saw bookmakers handle 80 million payments.
Moreover, on Sunday, February 12 alone, more than 100,000 transactions related to sports betting were recorded at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale and surrounding areas.
The largest bookmakers in the US coped with an impressive volume of bets during the Super Bowl. FanDuel reported that at its peak, it was processing up to 50,000 bets per second, with an average of about 2 million active users on its platform. MGM Resorts reported a record volume of bets.
