A recent GeoPoll report on betting trends in Africa has revealed the rising popularity of the crash game Aviator in local gambling markets.

The survey, which included nearly 4,200 participants across six Sub-Saharan countries (South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Tanzania), showed that 19% of respondents consider Aviator their primary game of choice. The game ranks second in popularity, trailing only football betting, which 61% of those surveyed prefer.
Basketball betting and casino games tied for third, each chosen by 6% of participants. Other notable gambling preferences among Africans include:
- Other sports betting – 3%
- Boxing betting – 2%
- Lottery – 2%
- Motor racing betting – 2%
- Greyhound racing – 1%
- Horse racing – 1%
- Poker – 1%
For reference, Aviator is a game developed by the iGaming company SPRIBE, which was founded in 2018 in Kyiv. The game’s mechanics revolve around an airplane: as long as the plane is flying, the multiplier increases, boosting the user’s bet.
