Stake Stages First-Ever Football Match at More Than 3,000 Metres

Stake says it has staged the first-ever football match at an altitude of more than 3,000 metres. The game formed part of its It’s All At Stake campaign, created around the 2026 World Cup.
For the match, the gambling operator lifted a 12-by-20-metre football pitch into the air using a balloon.
The structure weighed around three tonnes, was covered with artificial turf and remained airborne for about an hour.
The match was played at an altitude of around 3,050 metres. Six extreme sports content creators took part: Nathan Roque, Alessio Papia, Nicolo Contrada, Yasmin Xavier, Sara Vidal and Carol Schafazzer. After the game, the participants jumped from the airborne platform with parachutes.
The match video is being promoted on YouTube and across social media.
Stake director Jarrod Febbraio said that during major sporting events, it is no longer enough for brands simply to be part of the conversation.
He said the company aims to create content that attracts attention, sparks discussion and shows fans something they have not seen before.
A similar activation was previously carried out by gambling operator 1win. As part of its 1win Extreme project, the company organised a football match at an altitude of around 1,000 metres, with influencer Sasha Chistova serving as the referee.
