Ontario’s Gambling Industry Scores Big: $409 Million Revenue in Q1

Ontario’s gambling industry had a strong start, earning $409 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year. That’s a 3.6% increase from the GGR in the Q4 of the previous year.
The total market volume from April 1st to June 30th reached $10.5 billion.
The revenue came from various sources, such as:
• Casino games: $294 million (slot machines, real-time table games, online gambling, and peer-to-peer bingo)
• Sports betting: $104 million
• Poker: $12 million
The regulated market in Ontario was launched in April 2022. Currently, there are 46 gambling operators and 71 gambling websites operating in the region.
