New Jersey Gambling Revenue Hits $457M in June

New Jersey’s gambling industry had a stellar month in June, earning $457 million in revenue. That’s a 14% increase from June 2022, and slightly lower than May 2023, when it reached $470.9 million.
The revenue came from various sources, such as:
- Casino operations: $241.6 million (5.4% increase from last year)
- Online gambling: $149.3 million (12.1% increase from last year)
- Sports betting: $66.4 million
The nine state hotels and casinos pulled in $241.6 million from casino gambling, a 5.4% increase from last year (2022: $229.1 million) and slightly higher than May’s $227.3 million.
Slot machines were the biggest moneymakers, bringing in $182.98 million in June, a 7% rise from the same period last year.
Table games also did well, earning $58.6 million, a slight improvement from the previous year (2022: $58.1 million).
Online gambling was another bright spot, contributing nearly $150 million in June, a 12.1% increase.
The state also benefited from the gambling boom, collecting $45.9 million in taxes from the industry by the end of the month.
