A new sports betting app, Hajem Sports, has launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), offering a way for local users to experience the thrill of wagering — without financial risk or religious concerns.

According to The National, users receive free daily credits, which they can use to place bets.

Correct predictions earn points, allowing players to climb the leaderboard.

With the vast majority of UAE citizens being Muslim, and Islam strictly prohibiting gambling, Hajem Sports operates within religious guidelines, offering a risk-free alternative to traditional sports betting.

The app was created by Zaid Abu Soud, a former mixed martial arts tournament organizer.

Currently, Hajem Sports allows users to predict football match outcomes, but plans are underway to expand into basketball, MMA, and eSports.

“We wanted to give the Arab or Muslim user a skin in the game without committing a vice. It’s about the feeling — the high of winning without the financial interaction associated with it,” said Abu Soud.
