Apple, the tech giant, has launched a new app, Apple Sports, in its online store. The app shows sports data like match scores and team stats. It also lets users check out DraftKings live betting odds.
The app covers stats for NHL, NBA, NCAA, and top football leagues in several countries, including England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Mexico, and the USA.
Apple plans to add American football and baseball leagues in the USA soon.
Users can’t place bets on the app; the odds are just for reference. If they want, users can choose to turn off the bookmaker quotes.
The Apple Sports app is part of Apple’s push into sports. Before, the company started a streaming service for MLS football league matches and baseball league games. Apple Sports will have a direct link to watch these streams. It looks like Apple is aiming for a U.S. audience with its sports-themed products.
Apple is not the only one in the game. Elon Musk’s platform X also made a similar deal, featuring live betting odds for sports games from BetMGM.
